Today I’m wearing a shirt commemorating the Bost

Today I’m wearing a shirt commemorating the Boston Massacre, and specifically #CrispusAttucks. The son of an African slave and a Natick Indian, he escaped his own enslavement and became a successful sailor and ropemaker in #Boston.
Attucks was part of a small protest near the Old State House. Colonists were fed up with their treatment from the Crown and its adherents. British soldiers arrived to quell the dispute between a local officers and town residents but only inflamed the situation. (Sound familiar?) Soliders fired upon the group of townspeople, killing five and wounding six. Crispus Attucks was the first to die, making him the first casualty of the American Revolution.
The first man to die for America was a person of color. #history
