So, I am a certified cryptozoologist. Yep. That’s a thing.

A thing that is completely illegitimate unless you pay someone a few dollars to send you a fill-in-the-blank diploma. Which my awesome husband did for me last Christmas.

And though we joke about it, I am fascinated with the idea of creatures that shouldn’t exist, but people claim to have seen. I enjoy reading about the cultural aspects, the local literature that comes from these monsters living on the edge of reality.

Today’s post includes another video from the amazing British Pathé archives. It leads with the Loch Ness Monster. Yes, we all know there are significant scientific issues with a dinosaur-like beast living in a lake in Scotland. But a child-like part of us wants it to be true, or at least possible.

That’s what makes Halloween so fun.
